This year could have been the first that I actually bothered with Boxing Day sales - not because I was mad keen on a bargain, you understand; but because my sister is only home for another four days and she suggested it. And yet, when I woke up in a snuggly bundle of blankets and last year's fleecy pyjamas on the first day there was no need to get out of bed for a while, it was all I could do to send her and my mum a text asking them to keep an eye out for any bargain bath sets in Lush.
Which was just as well, seeing as their website was down all day.
My Boxing Day was instead one for opting for a takeaway over dragging myself out to Tesco, doing last year's self-assessment - which apparently I hadn't done yet - and putting together these lists, smug in the discovery that last year I clearly decided against ranking my favourite songs. I'm sure some of these will show up in my year-end mixes next week, but I've embedded a Spotify playlist below.
What was your favourite song this year? Let me know and, if enough people contribute, I'll put together a special "readers' picks" mix!
